We usually recommend to arrive at Frankfurt Airport (FRA) as you will find direct services to all European cities from there. Every hour, a direct high-speed railway connection services Karlsruhe in just one hour (Further information can be found on https://www.bahn.com).
If more convenient, you can also fly into Stuttgart (STR) or Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden (FKB, Ryanair). From Stuttgart you best take a rental car though train connection is available with changing trains at Stuttgart main station. From Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden a shuttle bus offers service to Karlsruhe main station or you can rent a car.
Since Karlsruhe currently suffers badly from a lot of road works and roads may be closed any day without notice, we recommend taking a taxi from Karlsruhe Main Station. For Tram service from Karlsruhe Main Station to KIT, please, check the notice boards.
A journey planner is also available at http://www.kvv.de/.
If you arrive by public transport, the campus is best accessible from the tram stop ‘Durlacher Tor / KIT Campus Süd’, as indicated on the map. From there it is just a 5 minute walk to the Engler-Bunte Institute.
If you plan to travel to Karlsruhe by car, please, set your GPS system to “Adenauerring 7”, which is the main entrance (Haupteinfahrt) to KIT Campus Süd.
You can find several parking areas around the KIT (indicated in the map) in walking distance to the conference venue.
For your guidance, an interactive campus map is also available below.
